Capturing the Magic of a Christmas-Themed Wedding:
De Annrea and Mitch’s Wedding Celebration
De and Mitch’s engagement portrait session at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, CO was a perfect match for my bold and vibrant editing style. The colorful gardens provided the perfect backdrop for their playful and fun personalities, allowing me to capture candid and authentic moments of their love. De and Mitch were so much fun to work with, and they weren’t afraid to let their silly sides show, which made the session so fun. Their love for each other was evident in every shot, and this guaranteed that their photos turned out great.
De and Mitch had a big wedding celebration planned, but like many others, COVD got in the way.
Instead of waiting for the right time for a bigger celebration, they opted to have an intimate wedding ceremony at Mitch’s parent’s house.
As a wedding photographer, I have been lucky enough to witness many beautiful ceremonies, and De Annrea and Mitch’s wedding in December 2020 was a truly special occasion. The couple tied the knot at Mitch’s parents’ house in Denver, CO, with just a few close friends and family in attendance. The ceremony was filled with warmth, joy, and Christmas spirit, and I was honored to capture every moment and create lasting memories for the couple and their family. I appreciate small weddings like this, as they allow for so many opportunities to capture candid and emotional moments.
De and her daughter got ready together. Lots of smiles there! Mitch and De’s son got ready together and shared some really wonderful moments together. It was so wonderful to see the bond between Mitch and his newly adopted kids.
Mitch’s dog Charlie was, of course, a big part of the festivities!
He was perfect with his “best dog” bandana and bow tie.
Mitch’s parents did an excellent job of helping to plan and organize the event, food, and decor in their home.
De and Mitch’s first look was one of the most emotional and cute we’ve ever seen.
De and Mitch have the ability to help make any portrait look natural and beautiful because of how obviously in love they are. This is one thing I tell all my clients: as long as you are obviously head-over-heels in love, your photos will come out great!
The officiant at this small wedding ceremony did such a good job working the couple’s faith into the ceremony. Everyone also made sure to include the kids in the ceremony.
Mitch had special statements for each of the kids welcoming them into his family.
The couple’s love was not just a celebration of their union but also a celebration of the family they were creating. The emotions from all the family members were so moving. De and Mitch spent time getting ready with the kids and giving them gifts to mark the experience. Seeing the family come together and celebrate this special occasion was heartwarming.
A fun thing about this ceremony was the beautiful Christmas-themed decorations. The house was adorned with twinkling lights, a beautifully decorated tree, and other holiday decorations. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and it was clear that every detail had been carefully planned to create a magical setting for the couple’s special day.
A lot of this family lives out of state and in Canada, but they were included in the ceremony and toasts via Zoom!
How cool is this family?!
Outdoor Christmas decorations made for the perfect end of night portrait!
