Courtney & Bishop

A fun and colorful Halloween wedding in Severance, CO

October 21, 2020

Courtney, Bishop, and their guests toughed out a smoky day to create a beautiful wedding day.

Courtney and Bishop got married at Windsong Estate in Severance, CO. This venue has a clean, modern vibe that makes it easy to suit any decor style.

Rooms like this encourage us to have fun and be creative during getting ready.

Guys getting ready always tends so be a little bit more relaxed than gals.

Courtney and Bishop had an adorably sweet first look.

One of the reasons we like private first looks is that it lets us get some portraits out of the way before the ceremony. For example portraits with adorable dogs like Ahsoka and Jake!

We love the reflection the smoky skies behind Courtney as she walks down the aisle.

Courtney and Bishop’s wedding fell on one of the smokiest days of the year.

The smoky skies made for a unique and gorgeous color palette for this autumn wedding.

Courtney and Bishop opted to literally tie the knot with a hand-fasting ceremony.

Courtney and her family did most of the decorations for the wedding themselves. This made sure they were exactly what they wanted. We loved the low-key Halloween theme they went with!

Courtney and Bishop’s first dance was magical, especially in the ballroom at Windsong.

If you hadn’t already guessed from their dog’s name: Ahsoka, Courtney and Bishop are huge Star Wars fans. These lightsaber portraits were one of our favorite parts of this day and some of our favorite wedding portraits we’ve ever created!

We love incorporating couple’s passions and interests into their portraits. Was also love using creative, colorful lighting, so lightsabers were the perfect opportunity to showcase this!
