Megan and Derik’s wedding in Lafayette Colorado was colorful and fun!
This adorable couple got married at a private property in Lafayette Colorado. This was an added bonus for us because it was about 5 minutes away from our house!
Megan got ready at her home and Derick got ready at his brother’s house. Both parties had a fun time getting ready.
Funny story: Derick ended up having to go to Kohl’s on the way to the ceremony to pick up a tie!
We knew for sure that Megan and Derick were our people when they had a Taco Bell snack. We couldn’t help but work that into a ring detail shot.
Our favorite thing about this backyard wedding: the treehouse that let us get a bird’s eye view of the ceremony.
Megan and Derick’s daughter was a wonderful (and goofy) flower girl.
It’s hard to beat the golden hour lighting in October. That shine adds such a richness to almost any scene and makes a ceremony magical.
Portraits during sunset are one of our favorite ways to connect with a couple on their wedding day. Portraits that look candid and fun (rather than stuffy) are one of our specialties.
Another favorite thing about this wedding: getting to work with the kids of the couple. Kids always bring so much personality, fun, and humor. The trampoline at this venue was the perfect opportunity to add some play to the end of the night.
