The lake was frozen solid, and the surrounding snow made the entire landscape feel like it came straight out of a snow globe. To make things even more fun (and heartwarming), their dog, Bailey, joined us for some of the photos. As someone who loves incorporating pups into sessions, this was just the icing on the cake! There’s something about a dog in the photos that adds the perfect touch of personality and fun.

When I arrived at The Barn, I was absolutely blown away by the decor Jaclyn had put together herself. I mean, seriously, she’s got some major DIY skills! From the tablescapes to the twinkling lights and incredible altar, everything was so thoughtfully put together. I couldn’t believe she had done all of this without a wedding planner! In fact, Jaclyn and Logan showed up with a Uhaul full of decor, which is honestly impressive on a whole new level. It was clear that Jaclyn poured so much love and effort into the details. It was a testament to her personal style and passion for making their wedding day exactly how they imagined it. Your wedding day is all about you: make it yours!
Jaclyn and Logan both got ready on-site at The Barn, which is such a bonus for couples. Not having to worry about travel or logistics on the big day is always a win! The separate getting-ready rooms gave them both the privacy they needed to relax and enjoy the morning. Jaclyn’s hair was done by none other than Cimone Barnes of WedStyle Beauty, a former bride of mine and now a talented hair artist. It was great to see her again, and she did a fantastic job with Jaclyn’s hair—elegant yet simple, perfect for this classy affair.

The snow outdoors was a little tricky to navigate in heels, but it was worth it for this amazing first look.
As Jaclyn walked down the aisle, there may have been a few tears. The couple’s little ring bearer stole the show as he delivered his precious cargo. The couple’s vows were filled with love and emotion, setting the tone for the night ahead. I also loved how Jaclyn and Logan made the ceremony uniquely theirs, incorporating personal touches that made the whole experience feel intimate and special.
One of the highlights of the night was the La Marcha, a lively and joyous wedding tradition led by Jaclyn’s aunt and uncle. La Marcha is a custom from Mexico, where guests are invited to parade around the reception hall, singing and dancing in celebration of the newlyweds. It’s a moment of pure joy and togetherness, and it was clear that Jaclyn and Logan’s family embraced this tradition wholeheartedly. The energy in the room was electric, and it felt like the entire barn was lit up with happiness and love.

After dinner, Jaclyn and Logan were so down for a little adventure in the snow. We snuck outside a couple of times to capture some breathtaking night portraits. Of course I had to bring out my signature astrophotography skills! There’s just something magical about a couple standing under the stars, surrounded by snow-covered ground, and I’m not saying it was magical because I’m a little biased, but… it was definitely magical. The night sky above them added a dreamy vibe to their photos that perfectly captured the quiet romance of their wedding night.
To end the night, Jaclyn and Logan shared a private last dance together, a tradition that always gets me a little misty-eyed. The Barn was almost empty: It was just the two of them, the soft glow of the lights, and the sweet sound of the music as they shared a quiet, intimate moment before their wedding day came to a close. It was the perfect way to wrap up a magical celebration, and it made their already-perfect day feel even more special.
