Ah, pizza—who doesn’t love it? It’s the ultimate comfort food, and if you’re lucky enough to be getting married at a pizza place, you’re in for one heck of a celebration. And that’s exactly what Rebecca and Matt had at their wedding at Mountain Crust Pizza Event Venue in Denver. But before we get into the epic pizza-filled wedding day, let’s rewind a little to when I first met these two lovebirds for their engagement session.
Rebecca and Matt kicked off their engagement session in Olde Town Arvada, a charming little area full of cool spots for photos. We wandered around and had a blast getting some super cute shots. Mike, my husband (and lighting assistant extraordinaire), tagged along to help us create even more of those “OMG, this is so cute” moments.

We then headed to Majestic View Nature Center and Park, a gorgeous spot with amazing views of the foothills. Between the fun vibes in Olde Town and the natural beauty of the park, Rebecca and Matt were just a dream to work with. I mean, how do you not get cute pictures when you have two people this in love? It was one of those sessions where everything just clicked, and we were all having a blast.

On their wedding day, Rebecca and Matt prepped for their upcoming nuptials at separate friend’s houses, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Let me tell you, the energy in both places was chill and fun. Everyone was getting ready for the day that would go down in history as the one where they tied the knot at one of the most delicious wedding venues in Denver. Rebecca gave her dad a wedding day gift and that was such a precious moment between them.

Matt was chilling with his guys, cracking jokes and getting into the zone (as you’ll see soon, Matt is a total character). Meanwhile, Rebecca was getting ready with her crew of ladies, all of them beautiful and buzzing with excitement.

After some final touches, we headed to a nearby park for a private first look, and oh gosh, that moment was everything.

I can’t stress enough how much I love capturing private first looks. There’s something so special about seeing the couple’s genuine reactions when they first lay eyes on each other before the ceremony. And let me tell you, Matt’s reaction to seeing Rebecca in her wedding dress was priceless. It was like a mix of “WOW!” and “You look absolutely stunning” and a whole lot of jaw-dropped admiration.

It’s moments like these that make my job so much fun. I mean, who doesn’t love a little emotional reaction combined with tons of love? After the first look, we were able to get some fun wedding party and family portraits at the park, too. The vibe was super laid-back, which allowed everyone to just relax and enjoy the moment before the ceremony.

Before the ceremony, Rebecca and Matt were able to enjoy some drinks with their guests and share some quiet moments together, which was a nice touch.

Next up was the ceremony. This wasn’t just any ceremony; it was filled with humor, laughter, and even a few happy tears.

Matt decided to drop a little humor on everyone by proclaiming that he was, in fact, the funnier one between the two of them. Naturally, that got a big laugh from the crowd, especially from Rebecca, who knows her husband’s sense of humor all too well. He’s a total ham, and you could see that lightheartedness throughout the entire day.
But, it wasn’t just jokes during the ceremony. The love between these two was real and undeniable. The ceremony itself was beautiful, with some emotional moments sprinkled in, making it just the right amount of sweet.

Check out some of the gorgeous florals and just the general good looks of this venue including the awesome mural on site:

One of the unique features of their wedding that had guests buzzing during cocktail hour? Rocky Mountain Beverage Burros. If you haven’t seen one of these burros in action, let me just tell you—they’re freakin’ adorable. You can rent these little guys to serve up drinks at your wedding, and they are definitely a crowd favorite. Not only do they bring a fun, quirky vibe, but the burros add a touch of the Colorado spirit to your celebration. Guests loved the novelty of having drinks served by a burro, and I’m pretty sure the burros loved the attention, too. I seriously love working weddings with the burros.

Let’s talk about the pizza for a second—it was delicious. Mountain Crust Pizza is known for its amazing pies, and they definitely did not disappoint. From classic favorites to more adventurous options, every guest was happily munching on pizza slices and loving every bite. It’s no secret that food is a huge part of any celebration, and Rebecca and Matt nailed it with their choice of venue.

The best part of any reception: the dancing. After their sweet first dances, including parent dances that were equally adorable, the real party began. Elite DJ did an amazing job making sure the party raged the entire time.

My absolute favorite touch? The baskets full of those tiny hands placed all over the reception for everyone to use during the dancing, you know those ones you slip over your fingers? Now, I don’t know why, but these things just cracked me up. Something about a basket full of tiny hands just makes me laugh out loud every time. Guests definitely had a blast using them while busting out their best (or maybe worst) dance moves. It was just one of those details that made everything feel even more personal and fun.

And of course, the dancing didn’t stop. There was no way this party was slowing down, especially with some hilarious dance shenanigans from one of the uncles. I mean, there was a lot going on: funky moves, a few surprise dance-offs, spontaneous limbo with a belt, and plenty of laughs.

If you’re a couple who’s into great pizza, tons of fun, and a vibe that’s laid-back but full of energy, Mountain Crust Pizza Event Venue is an ideal location for your wedding. Located in the heart of Denver, it offers a unique, casual setting that still provides all the charm and beauty of a traditional wedding venue. Plus, they’ve got plenty of room for a party, which is exactly what Rebecca and Matt’s wedding turned out to be.
From the private first look to the Rocky Mountain Beverage Burros to the epic dance party, Rebecca and Matt’s wedding was absolutely “them”. Their personalities really shone through every detail—from their laid-back vibe to their playful humor. You could just feel the love between them, and that made everything even more special.
