From DIY cowboy boot decorations to the heartwarming family moments, Georgia and Hunter’s wedding day was a beautiful mix of elegance and personality, with a splash of country flair.
A couple of months before their wedding we had fun at a very eventful engagement session. First of all, they brought their horses! This was my first session with horses and I would love to do more, we had so much fun! Second, a lightning storm interrupted us and we had to hide in our cars for a while 😶

It’s not very often that you get a photo session with such awesome post-storm clouds!

Let’s dive into this beautiful celebration. Trust me, you won’t want to miss these behind-the-scenes stories.
Georgia and Hunter got ready at the venue, which meant no long drives or complicated logistics. Hunter’s mom, Theresa, was the unsung hero of the day, pulling off some major bridal magic with Georgia’s hair and makeup. We’re talking flawless. Theresa gave Georgia this effortlessly gorgeous, natural look that still made her feel like a million bucks. Seriously, if we could all have a mom with that kind of talent on standby, life would be way easier.

I love these silly little candid moments that happen during getting ready like Georgia getting a little stuck getting into her dress.

Georgia made a lot of DIY decorations using florals and even cowboy boots! These gave the day a fun, personalized touch. Pairing those with her stunning dress? Chef’s kiss. Hunter was looking sharp, too, with his hat and vest.

We did a private first look before the ceremony, which is always such a sweet moment. And honestly, there’s something about the calm before the storm of the ceremony that really brings the emotion to the forefront. We decided to set this up behind the barn, just out of sight from the main space. It was cozy and intimate, giving them the moment they needed to really connect before the big walk down the aisle. We also snagged a couple of cute portraits which is another benefit of doing a first look.

Their ceremony? Breathtaking. There’s something about a sunny, outdoor ceremony that just feels right—and Georgia and Hunter’s ceremony had that vibe in spades. The bright sunlight beamed down on them, and the whole scene was framed by the rustic beauty of the barn and surrounding land. It was simple, it was heartfelt, and it was full of love.

Such a cute flower girl!

Having a ceremony like this in such a beautiful setting meant we got to play around with all the natural beauty surrounding us. Mike and I were both on the lookout for the best moments, and I used some lighting tricks to make sure every shot popped. The couple looked incredible under the sun, and let’s be real, the clear blue sky behind them made everything even more magical.

Now, I’m a sucker for a good first dance. There’s something so special about that moment when the couple steps into their own little world, right before everyone joins the dance party. Georgia and Hunter’s first dance was everything—and the sweetest part? The way their parents joined them on the dance floor for their first dances. There’s nothing like watching those tender, emotional moments unfold, especially when the love and pride from family are so clear. Seriously, it was a tearjerker in the best possible way. As a photographer, this is exactly what I’m here for: those real, genuine moments that define the day.

After the emotional first dances, there was even more! Some super touching toasts from family and friends.

And of course, the cake cutting.

And, of course, you know I have to talk about Grandma’s dance moves. Absolute legend. If there’s one thing I love, it’s a grandma who can rock. She was living her best life on that dance floor, and honestly, her energywas amazing. There’s something so special about watching family members of all ages letting loose and having a blast together. It’s the kind of moment that makes me so grateful for this job.

As the night wound down and the dance floor was in full swing, Mike and I snuck Georgia and Hunter away for some sunset portraits. We took full advantage of the fading light and the epic backdrop of the Colorado countryside to create some epic, Instagram-worthy shots that Georgia and Hunter will treasure forever.
It’s always such a quiet moment—just the couple, a gorgeous sunset, and us capturing the beauty of the day as it winds down. It’s the perfect way to pause and really soak it all in. And when we’ve got lighting that good? It’s hard to not feel like we’ve just created some wedding photo magic. Check out this award-winning portrait Mike created.

Georgia and Hunter’s wedding was everything a couple could want: love, laughter, family, and a whole lot of fun. From their DIY touches to their heartfelt ceremony and sunset portraits, it was a day full of authentic moments that made it unforgettable. We couldn’t have been more honored to capture their wedding day at Dreams and Dragonflies.
To Georgia and Hunter, thank you for letting us be a part of your day. We’ll be over here reminiscing about the amazing family vibes and Grandma’s epic dance moves for a long time to come!
