Hold on to your butts. Chris and Chelsea’s wedding was a total ride. These two are the epitome of down-to-earth coolness, and their March wedding at Lionsgate in Lafayette was an absolute banger. If you’ve ever wanted to see a wedding that’s as laid-back as it is unforgettable, you’re in for a treat.
Mike and I have been friends with Chelsea and Chris for years. We first met them over some beers and our tiny dogs, Sylas and Pierre at Romero’s K9 Club in Lafayette, CO, and from that moment, it was clear they were our kind of people. We even…dressed as Pierre for Halloween.
A couple of years later, after many drinks lots of dog cuteness Chris decided it was time.

Chris’s proposal was absolutely perfect. Picture this: Matt Doubek, a caricature artist capturing the couple’s portraits from across the brewery, adding in a “will you marry me?” speech bubble and showing Chelsea his creation. Definitely one of the most unique proposals I have ever heard of!

Their engagement session at Chautauqua and Wonder Wonder was equally epic. The day was perfect, the scenery was stunning, and Chris and Chelsea were all smiles and goofy giggles. It was clear they were a match made in heaven, and we couldn’t wait to see what their wedding would bring.

Lionsgate Event Center was the perfect venue for their celebration. Both Chris and Chelsea had fantastic spaces to get ready, Chris and his guys were chilling with beers, while Chelsea and her crew were getting glam with hair, makeup, and a whole lot of laughter. The vibe was as relaxed as it was electric, and it set the tone for the rest of the day.

Let’s talk about the decor. Chris and Chelsea went all out, and it showed. The florals and table settings were straight-up gorgeous, Lafayette Florist knocked it out of the park as usual. Lionsgate was transformed into a visual feast.

And how about this cake by Meraki Cakes? SO gorgeous.

But the real show-stoppers were the donkeys from Rocky Mountain Beverage Burros, serving beers during cocktail hour. That’s right, donkeys. Because, honestly, who wouldn’t want a couple of adorable donkeys bringing them drinks? And let’s not forget the VW bus turned photo booth. I’m definitely recommending Shutterbus to future clients! It was quirky, it was fun, and it was the perfect touch to an already awesome day.
One of my favorite parts of the day: catering by McDevitt Tacos. They are incredible…plus they catered my wedding.

One of the most memorable moments was their private first look. If there were ever a time to feel all the feels, this was it. The exchange between Chris and Chelsea was emotional and intimate, and we managed to capture some seriously breathtaking portraits that showcased their deep connection.

Their ceremony was a perfect blend of humor and emotion. With a wedding party that was as lively and colorful as you could imagine, the ceremony was full of laughs, love, and a quite few happy tears. The flower girls were an absolute hit, adding an extra layer of cuteness to an already heartwarming event.

I still can’t get over them skipping down the aisle.

And then came the reception. If you’re picturing a wild party with everyone tearing up the dance floor, you’d be spot on. The energy was through the roof, and Mike and I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. We wrapped up our photography coverage but stayed on because, frankly, the party was too good to miss.

We ended the night with some to-die-for portraits under the gorgeous gate at Lionsgate.

From donkeys serving beers to a VW bus photo booth, Chris and Chelsea’s wedding was a non-stop celebration of everything that makes life amazing. Every detail was a reflection of their personalities: fun, unique, and totally fabulous.
