A unique wedding for a unique couple.
Stephanie and Rene have a long and interesting history together. They are parents, artists, and friends. Now that I know them, I look forward to getting to know them even better.
Their wedding was an intimate affair at the Lumber Baron Inn in Denver, CO. The spiritual, Victorian nature of this venue fit perfectly with their character and ceremony.
A few years ago, Stephanie was told she had only a 2% chance of ever walking again, and she destroyed those odds, walking down the aisle in her gorgeous Indian dress.
Stephanie and Rene were wed surrounded by a tight circle of family and friends. This was an interesting challenge for my second shooter (the amazing Erik Holladay) and I to light and capture.
The couple’s friend, Shanti, officiated, complete with a cacao ritual and infinity knot.
I loved that they had their friends and loved ones rings bells to celebrate their first kiss (and every kiss after).
Being a February wedding, we lucked out and got snow as their ceremony was ending. We were able to sneak the newlyweds outside for a quick, colorful couple’s portrait (I used MagMod gels to color the snow behind them blue).
Stephanie and Rene’s wedding made me fall in love with small, intimate ceremonies. I can’t wait for my next unique wedding!
