I’ve known Scott for years and we reconnected when he inquired about hiring me for his wedding photography. What a pleasant surprise! Mike and I clicked with Scott and Josh right away over drinks at Crystal Springs brewing.
We had so much fun with them and their dog, Spartacus at their engagement session that we know their wedding would be a blast! Plus, I had somehow never been to Crested Butte, despite living in Colorado my whole life!
Scott and Josh’s wedding was part of a double-header wedding weekend for me, and we ended up arriving in Crested Butte at around 2am. We made sure to call our hotel beforehand to let them know about our late arrival, and they couldn’t have been more helpful. We highly recommend the Old Town Inn if you’re ever up in Crested Butte!
When we woke up and saw Crested Butte in the light of day, we were blown away. It had snowed the night before, so the peaks surrounding us were perfectly capped with white. Such a gorgeous, special place. We totally forgot about our late night and were energized by the prospect of the fun day ahead.
We started with the couple in their condo, getting ready.
Then we went to a trail one of the groomsmen had found for some couple’s portraits. We rode in the back of Josh’s truck for this dirt road.
Scott and Josh had both their ceremony and reception at the Crested Butte Mountain Wedding Garden.
Seeing these two so happy to be married was so heartwarming.
The wedding party enjoyed beers during some formal portrait time. I may or may not have gotten dirt and grass all over myself getting this shot… worth it!
I was not emotionally ready for the amazing dance Scott and Josh danced with two of their groomsmen after their first dance. Such a fun production!
How lucky these two newlyweds are to be surrounded by such a tight group of friends. They also really know how to party!
One of my favorite candid captures from the day was Josh showing off his wedding band with what looks suspiciously like a Vulcan salute (Josh and Scott are huge Star Trek nerds).
